Question: What is the Power Saver? Answer: The Power Saver is a device, which will reduce your electricity bill and save you money. The Power Saver uses state of the art electrical technology to actively monitor and improve the power factor of your household appliances. In addition, the intelligent technology optimises the voltage and current demands thus reducing the total current drawn from the mains AC source. It also acts as a voltage stabilizer and therefore supplies load with proper voltage during momentary power surges.
Question: Does the Power Saver require any maintenance? Answer: No. Simply plug the Power Saver in your premises and start saving money.
Question: Do I need to make any changes to the electrical wiring? Answer: No. The Power Saver is designed as a Plug & Play device. Simply plug the unit into a 13 Amp socket in your premises. It is recommended that the power saver should be plugged directly into a wall socket and not an extension lead or a multi-plug adapter.
Question: On what appliances will the Power Saver save? Answer: The Power Saver will save electricity on items such as the list below. As a guide, a typical location (home, small office, small shops, etc…) should have at minimum of 3 items in this list to experience savings. Therefore the more items and hours of usage you have on the below list, the more you will save.
Question: Will the Power Saver save electricity on everything at a typical location? Answer: No, the Power Saver will not save electricity on the below list. This does not mean that you will not save, because a typical house/office/shop has a good mix appliances and equipment. Therefore the more items and hours of usage you have on the above list, the more you will save.
Question: Do I get any warranty with the Power Saver unit? Answer: The Power Saver comes with a 24-month warranty, covering any manufacturing or material defects.
Question: Which Power Saver model is suitable for my use? Answer: The Power Saver Model 100 is suitable for residential use and is specially designed for small shops, 2 - 4 bedroom homes or any other premises where the monthly electricity consumption is between 300 kWh - 2000 kWh.
The Power Saver Model 300 is suitable for large homes, offices, shops, restaurants or any other premises where the monthly electricity consumption is between 500 kWh - 6200 kWh.
Question: Is the Power Saver suitable for use in a 3 phase systems? Answer: Yes. Both models can be used on a 3-phase system. Please note that the Power Saver Model 300 is not suitable for heavy-duty industrial load or monthly consumption exceeding 6200 KWH.
Question: How long will it take to recover the cost of buying a Power Saver? Answer: Based on customer feedback, field-testing, the original investment on the Power Saver can easily be recovered with in 6 to 12 months (based on 50% surcharge), therefore allowing you to enjoy additional savings for years to come.
Question: Is the Power Saver safe? Answer: Yes. The Power Saver is built within international safety standards.
Question: Do I leave the Power Saver ‘switched-on’ continuously? Answer: Yes. The Power Saver should be left 'Switched ON' continuously to achieve the maximum savings. We recommend that the unit should be switched off during long periods of inactivity, for example, when going abroad on holiday, or if the premises are closed for long periods of time.
Please note that the Power Saver stores energy for up to 10 seconds after it is switched off, therefore wait for at least 10 seconds between switching off the mains and un-plugging or relocating the device.
Question: Is the Power Saver environmentally friendly? Answer: Yes. The Power Saver helps improve the environment by minimising the amount of reactive power which otherwise is wasted in distribution networks, cables and your appliances in the form of heat. For example if you save a minimum of 360 Units in 1 year this will be equivalent to reducing 313 Kgs of CO2 into the atmosphere per year. (Calculations are based on the emissions Malta produces.)
